Arlo Pro Home Security Camera
We have had the Arlo Pro home security system for over a couple of months now and really enjoy it. The best feature of the cameras is that they are wireless. The system is easy to install and you are able to add many cameras to it seamlessly. Currently we have four cameras on our system, two which are Arlo Pro cameras and two Arlo (without audio).
Once installed you can manage settings via the Arlo app and/or website. I find the website easiest for setting rules, etc. You are able to adjust the sensitivity and recording times when motion occurs on each camera and further set times they will take video. With the purchase of any camera system it comes with the netgear router. As the cameras are wireless, installation is very easy, simply pair each camera with the base unit and then mount anywhere you like with the included magnetic base or stand mount. I am able to view the cameras at any time even if they are not set to record by using the live peek in. The other day my wife sold a table online and I was able to watch the person who purchased it pick it up and hear the entire conversation when I peeked in.
I plan to add several more cameras over time. The battery life on these has been very good thus far. The regular (non-Pro) Arlo come with Lithium batteries while the Pro units come with rechargeable lithium packs. So far, after two months of use we have not yet had to replace the non-rechargeable batteries or charge the packs. Another great benefit is that these are weather-proof so you can stick them anywhere outside and they work fine. As they are wireless you can lose reception if the camera is placed too far away, but so far we have had no issues and our home is over 4,000 SF.
Overall: this is a great system if you don't need live streaming recording but it does only activate on motion and without subscribing to Arlo's service you only get video recorded and saved for 7 days. However, given the flexibility and pricing, these are well worth the money.
